2006

The Shiraz planted in 2003 produced around eight (8) tonne of fruit, based on an average of 2 bunches per shoot, having thinned the shoots to an average of eight (8) per vine.

Alan Cooper of Cobaw Ridge produced our 2006 Shiraz from around 1.2 tonne of fruit.

We were very pleased with the rating by James Halliday:

Shiraz 2006 Deeply coloured; rich black fruit and licorice aromas lead into a full-bodied palate supported by firm, gently savoury tannins, will be long lived. Diam. 13.5% alc. Rating 93 To 2021

2007

The Shiraz planted in 2003 produced around 8 tonne of fruit, with an additional 4 tonne from the 2004 plantings.

A small quantity of Viognier, Sagrantino and Vermentino was also produced.

Alan Cooper of Cobaw Ridge produced our 2007 Shiraz from around 1.2 tonne of fruit. This wine will be released early in 2010.

 

 2008

The Shiraz produced around 18 tonne of fruit, most of which was sold to wineries in the Heathcote Region.

A small quantity of Viognier, Sagrantino and Vermentino was also produced.

Alan Cooper of Cobaw Ridge produced our 2008 Shiraz from around 1.2 tonne of fruit. This wine will be released in 2010.

 

2009

Unfortunately, the February 2007 bushfire destroyed our house and machinery and affected some of the vineyard. In order to reduce the stress on the vines, all of the fruit, other than 4 – 5 row of Shiraz was, was dropped. The removal of nets, the dropping of the fruit together with significant repairs to the irrigation drippers was done by a dedicated group of volunteers. Due to their efforts, for which we will be forever grateful, we should only lose about 10% of our vines.
